The SBCs are the hook here because they’re puzzles with roster limits, and finishing one usually spits out a guaranteed special card. But the pack odds stay brutal for top-tier players, so you end up trading a lot. And I mean a lot. The trade system works peer-to-peer, which is neat until someone offers you a 72-rated bronze for your Mbappe.
Draft Mode Pays the Bills
This is where the grind actually lives. Draft hands you a randomly generated squad and you play AI or other players to rack up wins. String together enough and you walk away with premium packs. Lose early and you get scraps. It’s the main loop if you’re free-to-play, because those pack rewards are the only consistent way to pull higher-rated cards without waiting on daily login bonuses. The modded version with free shopping just cuts that repetition in half. And you can grab the packs or cards from the store outright instead of replaying drafts for the hundredth time hoping for a walkout.
Fatal and Lightning Rounds
Fatal is the head-to-head trivia mode where you pick higher-rated players than your opponent based on stats. Lightning Rounds are timed store refreshes with limited special packs. And Fatal’s fine for a quick match, but it doesn’t move the needle on your collection much. Lightning Rounds need coins saved up, or you’re running the mod and can just buy in.
Chemistry Still Matters, Kinda
Squad building here isn’t as strict as FUT on console, but you still need links. Same league, same nation, or an icon to bridge the gap. It keeps you from just throwing eleven 90+ players together and calling it done. But the depth chart fills out slower than you’d like, especially when you’re missing that one left back from Serie A to finish the link. You’ll scroll through your duplicates for five minutes trying to remember if you packed him last week or quick-sold him.
