Level 40 Assumes You’re Comfortable

The first twenty or so levels ease you in. After that, the game stops going easy. Enemy placement gets nasty, you’re dodging fire from three directions, and the level design starts throwing in platforming sections where one bad jump costs you half your health bar. And the controls are simple — move, jump, shoot, grenade — but the game assumes you’re comfortable with them by level 40 and ramps up accordingly. The sound effects sell the chaos well enough that you’ll hear an incoming grenade before you see it.
