Bullets ricochet off barrels, five guys are coming from the right side, and somewhere a chicken is screaming because this game decided Old West shootouts needed more chaos. Run & Gun: BANDITOS drops side-scrolling gunplay into dusty frontier towns where cover barely exists and reloading at the wrong moment gets you killed. And it’s not tactical—more like controlled panic with a revolver.
Pistols, Shotguns, Rifles—All Wrong Sometimes
Pistols, shotguns, and rifles—each one handles differently enough that swapping mid-fight actually matters. Pistols fire fast but you’re basically tickling armored enemies. Shotguns clear groups if you’re willing to get close, which the game punishes about half the time. Rifles feel like the safe bet until you’re stuck in a narrow saloon corridor with no sightlines. And yeah, there’s a dodge roll, but the timing window is tighter than it should be. The base game locks most of the decent weapon skins behind coin walls that take forever to chip away at. Or you watch ads between rounds like some kind of hostage negotiation. The modded version with unlimited coins just hands you everything upfront so you can test loadouts without grinding the same dusty crossroads level 30 times in a row.
Mining Camps With Too Many Crates
But stages are short and mean. You’re moving left to right through mining camps, train stations, canyon edges, places with too many crates and not enough exits. Enemies spawn in clumps and they don’t wait for you to get comfortable. Some levels throw exploding barrels into the mix, which sounds fun until you realize they’re positioned exactly where you need to stand to avoid getting shot. Boss fights lean on pattern memorization, but the tells are subtle and the punishment for missing one is usually half your health bar. Survival mode strips out the level design entirely and just keeps sending waves until you fold.
