Aliens pour in from the edge of the map and you get to decide where they walk. Radiant Defense flips the usual tower defense setup by having you draw the path with your weapon placements instead of locking you into preset lanes. Drop a gun turret here, a tesla coil there, and suddenly the horde is snaking through a gauntlet you built tile by tile. And the setting is a bright, neon-soaked sci-fi world where everything glows like an arcade cabinet from 1983. The aliens look more like abstract shapes than anything that’d scare you.
Nine Guns and a Lot of Empty Tiles
You’ve got nine weapon types, each one upgradable through a handful of tiers. Standard laser turrets, slow fields, missile pods, and a few weirder options like black hole generators that yank groups into a single kill zone. But the real trick is placement. Every weapon forces the alien swarm to reroute around it, so you’re not just picking firepower, you’re sketching the maze they’ll die in. Fifteen missions, over four hundred waves total. The difficulty ramps hard enough that you’ll be redrawing your fortress layout between attempts.
Superweapons and the Part Where You Actually Spend
Three superweapons sit at the top of the arsenal. Each one is a screen-clearing panic button you charge up over time. The base game locks most of the higher-tier upgrades and weapons behind in-app purchases, and they’re not consumables, which is decent.
