The screen opens on a gym. There’s a fighter in the ring, some basic punches and dodges to try out, and a stat sheet that makes it pretty clear this version of boxing revolves around numbers as much as timing. Tapping the screen throws jabs and hooks, swiping handles dodges and blocks. Within a minute the first opponent shows up looking like he wandered out of a Wii Sports knockoff. Winning opens a menu stuffed with upgrades, appearance tweaks, and skill points that cost more than the match just paid out.

Stats Matter More Than Clean Hits

A fresh fighter with low power can land clean hits for three rounds and still lose on points because the damage output just isn’t there yet. Training between bouts adds strength, speed, or stamina, but each session costs in-game currency and the price climbs fast once the beginner tiers run out. And that’s where the mod version with unlimited money cuts through the slowest part of the grind. It hands out enough cash upfront to max out stats without replaying the same sparring matches twenty times over. Maxed stamina means throwing hooks for all six rounds without the screen going red.

Thirty Fighters Spread Across Two Weight Classes

The campaign strings together a ladder of opponents, starting with neighborhood types and working up to champions with absurd health bars. And counters that come out faster than they should. Each win unlocks new gear or hairstyles, most of which are cosmetic but a few items boost stats just enough to matter in the tougher brackets. Fights get harder in spurts rather than a smooth ramp. One match might end in ten seconds and the next drags out because the AI suddenly learned how to slip every hook. Moving up a weight class resets some of the difficulty but keeps the upgraded skills. Sounds fair until the first heavyweight lands a punch that takes half the health bar in one shot. There’s also an arcade mode that strips out the story and just throws random fighters at you until you lose. Decent for killing time but it doesn’t pay out nearly as well as the career grind. The welterweight champion has a beard that clips through his gloves during the pre-fight staredown.
